Hello...or actually Kwe Kwe!! Ch'wen Askanahe!! Which is basiclly saying Peace and hello... My family lived there long ago...even before it became the Battlefield...or Civil War. Camp Tuscarora and the Battlefield and Coles Plantation was where all my grandparents families before them lived and inhabited. They are Tuscarora people. Now and then I walk around there...and think about the stories that were handed down to me. They say we lived there even during the Tuscarora War. On the Nuese...and that our old Village was on those grounds. The last family to live there from the last of the Village peoples were the Blackwell family. Some ended up working across the road for Willis Cole...on his plantation. And some went to other places...but not far. Some went to Newton Grove. Just wanted to say hello...and if there is any information that lingers about any of the families that lived there...particularly the Blackwell family...I sure would appreciate knowing. They were there till the end of the Civil war...and were uprooted. The children were all adopted out to families in Newton Grove. And all the parents...seemed to have disappeared. We have no idea what happened to them. It is a piece of the puzzle that I am looking for. Thankyou-Nya:weh nuss
