Snow Hill NC - Nearly two dozen Tuscaroras from North Carolina set up camp October 29, 2006, upon a soybean field in Snow Hill, N.C. The farm land is known to be the site of the 18th century Tuscarora Fort Neoheroka. The "peaceful occupation” by the Tuscaroras was done in hopes of establishing protection for the site and any remains buried therein, as well as repatriation of ancestral remains that were excavated from the site in 1990.
